We do marketing to marketers, which means we need to get out of the cookie-cutter and do something memorable. Our experiences should be cool and simple to understand.
As an Event Manager you will design Channable’s event strategy and calendar, making sure we have a clear blueprint for our participation in trade fairs, conferences, webinars, and branded events across our nine different regions (Benelux, DACH, Iberia, Spain, Italy, France, Nordics, UK, and the US), keeping our brand positioning and essence reflect in our physical presence.
Your goal is to make sure our audience experiences an authentic and memorable Channable atmosphere in every touchpoint of our events.
Design Channable’s event strategy and calendar, making sure we have a clear blueprint for our participation in trade fairs, conferences, webinars, and branded events across our nine different regions (Benelux, DACH, Iberia, Spain, Italy, France, Nordics, UK, and the US), keeping our brand positioning and essence reflect in our physical presence;
Plan and execute Channable participation in regional trade fairs (approximately 16 events per year), managing all aspects of the event participation (briefing, booking, design, sponsorships, speaker coordination, schedules, brochures, catering, etc, from A-Z), assuring we reach the event goals respecting budget and quality standards;
Plan and production of the Impact Cube, Channable’s branded hybrid event, as well as its seven local editions, managing all aspects of the event participation (research and book locations, define agenda, hire local support teams and technical setup, physical layout, and catering, coordinate invitations and speaker definition);
Build replicable event playbooks, articles, and processes to train the internal team (representing Channable at events), ensuring consistency in external engagement across the brand, and scale the impact of our marking efforts;
Analyze the results coming from the events in terms of practical learnings, but also measuring return on investment, seeing the events as strategic, and part of a larger business development roadmap;
Be up to date about the event trends and profiles, being able to identify the relevant opportunities for Channable. You have a pulse on what is happening in the community, industry trends, and who are the emerging thought leaders, building your own map of potential event organizers, sponsors, speakers, or collaborators;
Collaborate externally with agencies and freelancers to execute the projects, but also with several different internal stakeholders (such as design, country marketing, product marketing, growth marketing, sales, and, CS teams), being able to coordinate a complex project landscape;
Define event requirements clearly and ahead-of-schedule with your marketing colleagues to ensure that the event has what it needs for world-class impact;
Lead Channable’s merchandise by producing goodies and giveaways that stick. From collaborating with the design team and marketing to the ordering, communications with manufacturers, shipping, inventorying, and anything else involving management of promotional material, physical booth items, and wearables - you’ve got it handled;
Budget and project management are your bread and butter. You are an expert on it.
Who are you?
4-6 years of experience planning or overseeing a successful event program, including trade fairs, conferences, virtual event management and, branded events, at least some of which has been gained through large events;
Bachelor's Degree in event management, leisure management, or related field is desirable;
You are a natural and experienced planner, able to oversee all aspects of event management;
High energy, fun and creative. Self-starter, inspired by ideas but result-oriented;
You have an eye for design and content and are conscious of branding and communications efforts that you need to master to be successful;
You are proficient in tools to assist in event planning and coordination, including Hubspot, Monday.com, Excel, and related tools;
You love to travel, and you ensure events execute flawlessly on the day of. You are able to assess when you are needed at events in order to keep things running smoothly;
Excellent communication skills to keep everyone in the loop, dealing with unexpected twists without stress;
Fluent in English;
The availability to work at least 4 days a week (min. 32 hours);
An address in (or close to) Utrecht or are willing to move.
Your journey at Channable
First 3 months:
Understand our business, market, audience, processes, and strategy
Audit our event processes and refine the strategy
Map out our event calendar to fit the overall goals
Take the first steps in the planning process for Q1 events
After 6 months:
Own the event calendar and executing the first events according to the new guidelines
Analyze the events performance and craft optimization plan
Executing the first editions of the Local Impact Cube events
After 8 months:
Define Channable’s new event blueprint and strategy
Executing the global edition of the Impact Cube.
